The Seton Hall Pirates took on the Farleigh Dickinson Knights in the final game of the three game series. The Pirates gained their 4th sweep of the season with a 5-1 victory at Owen T. Carroll Field. The pitching matchup was LHP Anthony Elia for Seton Hall against RHP John Chalupa for the Knights. Both pitchers dominated until the 4th when Farleigh Dickinson struck first. With 2 outs in the inning, first baseman Pat McClure singled to center, and brought home Shane Siebler. The Pirates responded in the 5th on a sac fly from Chris Chiaradio. The game remained tied until the bottom of the 8th. An error on the shortstop allowed the first run to score in the inning, and a sac fly from Sal Annunziata made it a 3-1 game. Next up was designated hitter Tyler Boyd who doubled down the right field line, and made it a 4-1 game. Chris Selden’s RBI single ended the scoring and made it a 5-1 Pirates lead. The score would hold, and the Pirates picked up their 4th sweep of the season. The Pirates improved to 15-4, while the Knights fell to 6-10. Anthony Elia was superb on the mound for Seton Hall. Elia went 8 innings while allowing only 1 run on 5 hits, while striking out 5. He improved his record to 2-2 with the win. Nick Cuono took the loss for the Knights, and his record fell to 1-1. The Pirates were lead by left fielder Chris Selden who had 2 hits and an RBI. Kyle Grimm, Sal Annunziata, Tyler Boyd, and Chris Chiaradio all had an RBI as well. The Knights were led by Pat McClure who had 2 hits and an RBI.
Outstanding Pitching Performance of the Weekend: Luke Cahill, Cahill came on in relief of Conor Krauss on Saturday and threw 6 shutout innings, which allowed the Pirates to get back in the game and get a 10-5 win. 6.0 innings, 3 hits, 2 K’s 0 walks
MVP of the Weekend: Designated Hitter Tyler Boyd, Boyd had a great weekend which included his team leading 3rd homerun of the season. 6 hits, 4 RBI’s, 1 homerun, 4 runs scored.

The Pirates are back in action on Tuesday at Owen T. Carroll Field to take on the Fairfield University Stags. The Knights will take on Monmouth on Wednesday. The Pirates will look to keep the momentum from their sweep over the weekend into this game against Fairfield. Fairfield is coming off of a win over Iona on Sunday.
