The Seton Hall Pirates took on the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils in the first game of a double header in New Britain, CT. The Pirates could only muster 4 hits and fell to the Blue Devils by a score of 1-0. The pitching matchup was RHP Conor Krauss (0-0) for Seton Hall against RHP Tom Coughlin (1-1) for the Blue Devils. The game was scoreless until the 4th inning, when two walks and a wild pitch put runners at 1st and 3rd. Another wild pitch allowed center fielder J.P. Sportman to score and put the Blue Devils up 1-0. The score would hold, and the Blue Devils got the win. The Blue Devils improved to 5-6 while the Pirates fell to 17-5. Both teams only managed 4 hits apiece in the game. Tom Coughlin got the win, going the distance in a complete game effort. He allowed 4 hits, and 0 runs while striking out 6. He improved to 2-1 on the season. Conor Krauss took the loss for Seton Hall, going 4.1 and striking out 4 batters. He fell to 0-1 on the year. Dan Ditusa came on for 1.2 of hitless relief. For the Pirates, Kyle Grimm was the standout with 2 hits, and catcher Alex Falconi doubled. This was the first time the Pirates have been shutout this season.
